 Crowle and Ealand 1940s Weekend – 24th and 25th September 2016

Come and taste the atmosphere of life in North Lincolnshire with a nostalgic look at the 1940’s, amongst the attractions will be re enactments from the ‘Northern World War II Association’, living history group, during the day wartime songs from Miss Marina Mae and Don Gentile, vintage buses and military vehicles, vintage clothes traders and a special real ale will be available.
BBMF fly past  will take place weather permitting with a Douglas C 47 Dakota Mk III ZA947.

From Colonial Warrior to Western Front Flyer. The Five Wars of Sydney, Herbert, Bywater, Harris.

John Doubleday, the internationally famous sculptor and grandson of Sydney invites you to drinks to celebrate the publication of the book at 11.30 on Sunday April 12 2015. Goat Lodge Farm, Goat Lodge Road, Great Totham, Essex. There will be a brief author talk at 12 noon and John will be available to chat about his grandfather’s amazing life. Signed copies of the book will be available to purchase on the day.

The Colchester Military Tournament is being staged by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Army’s national charity, to raise funds for our serving soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need. Come and have a great day out while helping us to support them.

1940s Day Book Signing and Talk

1940s Day, book signing and talk about The Weekend Trippers at the Combined Services Museum in Maldon Essex (CM9 4LQ) on Sunday 20th May 2012. The Rifles Living History Group will be in attendance as will other re-enactors and there will also be stalls selling and displaying a variety of 1940s items. More details to be added nearer the time. All proceeds from sales of the book are going to the Rifles Benevolent Trust

 

Come and meet me at the Royal Artillery Museum Woolwich on Saturday 31st March.

We had a great day at the museum and the Rifles Living History Group put on a brilliant display.

  

 

BOOK LAUNCH

The book launch for The Weekend Trippers was on Saturday 29th October 2011 at the Royal Green Jackets Museum in Winchester (SO23 8TS) and was supported by The Rifles Living History Group.
